There are things that people go out and buy that they could make at home for far less. Figure out how much money you are spending every month on little things you buy every day and it might surprise you. There are a ton of things I think people over pay for and here are some examples in case you might be one of these people.

  • If you are a person who buys coffee at a stand on our way to work most mornings, I want you to do some simple math. The amount of money that you are spending every month may surprise you. The machine in the picture above I am not even sure what it is called. All I know is that it makes coffee as good as any Starbucks and with just as much variety. The cup-like metal thing in front is a milk frother and works much better then steam ones I have used before. Together they make really great but cheap coffee and the total cost will be less then you are spending every month now.
  • Another thing that people spend way too much money on is bottled water. Some people actually think the water in bottles is cleaner then the water out of your faucet, but it is the same. All you have to do is take an empty one and fill it up with you. I actually have an empty bottle in my car at all times in case I need to fill one up. Saving money on water takes nothing but a little foresight.
  • One more example would be going out to order a simple hamburger. A hamburger even from a fast food joint is going to cost you more then $10 a burger. Multiply that by a whole family and you have one expensive meal. Instead just go get some supplies and save yourself some cash.
