The Yakima river is expected to be near flood levels this Thursday according to news reports. The National Weather Service says the Kiona gauge was up over 7 feet and expected to be over 11 feet by Tuesday night. The forecast calls for the river to be just under 13 feet on Thursday but should not cause much damage in flooding because it should stay right at flood level. They warn people to be cautious near low areas and be careful if you have livestock that roam near the river bed.

They say the flooding is due to warm weather and rain in the mountains this weekend.
