The search is on for the suspect who took several firearms from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Yakima Police are searching for the suspect who broke through secured fencing on the side of the building on South 24th Avenue on January 2nd. The incident took place around 8 pm.

When officers arrived at the building in the 1700 block of South 24th Avenue, they discovered the suspect had stolen between 15 and 20 firearms.

A palm imprint was left by the suspect. According to a press release from the Yakima Police Department:

“This particular suspect has been involved in several additional burglaries and theft incidents throughout the Yakima Valley within the last year,” YPD Captain Jay Seely said.

After further investigation by YPD detectives, the suspect has been charged with 40 felony crimes related to this incident. Efforts to locate him and the stolen firearms are ongoing.

“I am extremely proud of our Forensic Unit and Property Crimes Unit personnel,” Seely said. “The evidence they were able to gather during a snowstorm linking this suspect to the burglary is simply amazing.”
