Why is Canine Parvo On the Rise in Tri-Cities?

Many years ago, a stray came to my door. He was a beautiful cocker mix and after many attempts to find out who his owner might be, I finally named him Paco. Paco was a young dog, not really sure how old. Paco needed bathed and some TLC, and I noticed that he didn't seem to be feeling well and wouldn't eat much for a pup that had probably been on the streets, scavenging. Then the diarrhea started and I took him to the vet right away. He was diagnosed with Parvovirus and it was really too late for treatment. Parvo can be very deadly. So, with the Coronavirus restrictions, some folks may have put off getting shots for their pets, especially puppies. This has resulted in a rise in Parvo cases for dogs in the Tri-Cities.
