Blowing dust hazard advisory. The National Weather service advises of high winds and thunderstorms impacting the following Oregon and Washington State counties: Gilliam, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Wallowa, Wasco, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Kittitas, Walla Walla, and Yakima. Travelers are advised to be mindful of dust and debris that may limit visibility, impacting travel along highways in these area. Turn off cruise control, slow down and be prepared for dust blowing across open fields. If visibility is severely limited, pull completely off the roadway if possible and stop, turn lights off and flashers on. Never stop in travel lanes.
