A coalition of workers and union members in Washington state are proposing that the state incrementally raise the minimum wage beginning in 2017 to $13.50 per hour.

The current minimum wage is $9.47 an hour. The proposal would also include paid sick days for workers who don't already have them. If you remember Washington used to have the nations highest minimum wage, now 5 state have a higher hourly wage including: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Here's the kicker experts say it could take until 2031 for it to happen!
