The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office has reported they're seeing more vehicle prowls in the area. The most recent incidents were in the Bennington Lake and Rooks parking areas.

Police advise you to lock your vehicles. Take all valuables with you. Do NOT leave valuable items in your vehicle, where they can be easily seen.

It's always best to park your vehicle in a well-lit area. Set your alarm, if you have one. If you don't, it may be something to look into. NEVER store a spare key in your vehicle.

Also, NEVER leave your car running unattended.

Police would also like to hear about any suspicious activity you may have witnessed.

Check out the video below, courtesy of the Lacey Police Department.  It details some good rules and tips to note.

Vehicle prowls are very common.  Large parking lots are where they most often occur.  Schools, shopping malls, apartment complexes, and parks are prime targeting areas since there are a number of vehicles to check out in a short time.

On a positive note, it's awesome to know that Walla Walla Valley Law Enforcement is here for us.

If you don't feel safe in the area chosen to park. DON't park there. TRUST your instincts.  Be safe, and report ANY and ALL suspicious to local law enforcement.
