Urban Poet Society — Doing Great Things for Tri-Cities Youth

If you have not heard of the 'Urban Poet Society' yet, you are missing out. It is an organization created by a friend of mine names Jordan Chaney that reaches out and teaches local youth great life skills.

"WHO WE ARE AND WHY: Urban Poets Society is a youth leadership program designed to enhance the arts, the youth, and the community by creating an ever-expanding network of open-mics that recur monthly everywhere."

I had Jordan and some of the Poets in the group come in on the morning show this morning to talk about some of the things they are doing in the community. This Saturday they are having a fundraiser for the homeless and in a few weeks the group goes to Spokane to be recognized and accept a reward. They are doing big things in the Northwest and if you know someone that is interested in poetry or spoken word, let them know about the Urban Poet Society.
