It's not news anyone wants to break but the chief of Walla Walla County Fire District has been arrested for allegedly communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

Police reports say that Otis Allan Garbe, 57, of Touchet is in Benton County Jail charged with attempted rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes charges filed against him.

Garbe was under investigation by the Southeast Regional Internet Crimes Against Children team based in Richland.

Documents filed allege that Garbe knew the girl was under the legal age of consent and texted for a meeting last Thursday. Police were waiting and arrested Garbe and discovered condoms and a work cell on his person.

Garbe told investigators that he was there to meet a girl for sex according to the court documents.

Garbe had several other phones in his vehicle including his personal and a second phone.

Garbe is being held on $100,000 bail.
