Tips for a Fire-Free Halloween

Halloween is all about spooky decorations and fun costumes, but these fun things can also be major fire hazards. The National Fire Protection Association has some tips so you won't be the victim of an unwanted fire this weekend.

Watch out for flammable decorations like cornstalks, crepe paper, and dried flowers. Keep these and all other flammable items away from open flames, light bulbs, and heaters.

Those jack-o-lanterns on your front porch look nice but you should push them out of the main walkway. Or use battery operated candles to make sure there will be no accidents.

If you have little ones double check that their costume is not too long and dragging on the ground.
