A teenager that robbed a Kennewick coffee stand has been sentenced to three years in prison. Reports say the teen, David Padilla Sanchez, has pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery after being tried as an adult because he was 17 years old. Padilla had walked into Roasters Coffee on Columbia Center Blvd and grabbed the tip jar from the counter. When an employee confronted him, Padilla pulled out a knife and ran away with about $40 in tips. Padilla was later identified by witnesses and he also left his cell phone at the scene of the crime.

Padilla will spend time in a juvenile facility until October when he turns 18, where he will be transferred to an adult prison.
