Sheriff Hatcher Is Stepping Away from Duties Due to Allegations

Benton County Sheriff Jerry Hatcher is stepping away from his daily operations duties due to alleged allegations that he assaulted his wife in 2017.

It's been a tough week for the embattled Sheriff as news broke of an extramarital affair, domestic abuse and tampering with a witness allegations have filled our social media feeds in connection with divorce filings from his wife Monica.

Several unions have called for his resignation but Sheriff Hatcher in a released statement that's he's not resigning, he's only stepping away from his operational duties until the case is resolved.

In the interim, Commander Tom Croskrey will take over the Sheriff's duties.
