Going to the Farmers Market in downtown Pasco as it currently is, is already excellent. But it's about to get bigger and better! Major upgrades are in store as the modernization of downtown Pasco continues. While all the upgrades are underway, the Pasco Farmers Market is still happening through the rest of this month. Enjoy all that the vendors have to offer along 4th Avenue between Columbia and Lewis streets from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. (Two more Wednesdays and 3 more Saturdays left until the end of the season).

Farmers' markets have been around for thousands of years overseas, and for several centuries here in the U.S. It's nice to see such a wholesome tradition continue even after the advent of the industrial age and grocery stores. Farmers Markets really help small farms and businesses by giving them a venue to display and sell their goods. In many cases, fruits and vegetables are fresher and less expensive at Farmers Markets. Products usually get less handling, less transport, and little or no storage time.

Naturally there will be plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, but take a look at the video below and you'll find a whole lot more. Specialty cakes, loaves of bread and baked goods, fresh-off-the-farm flowers, hand-made soaps, specialty coffee beans and products, and treats, snacks, and food. The Pasco Farmer's Maret is a non-profit organization serving our communities. For reminders and updates on special additions or events, follow them on Facebook HERE.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
