Oakley was initially raised by a foster family and when time came for her to go back to Bowers and Carlson, her foster mother pleaded "please don’t let her go back, please don’t let her go back." Jamie Jo Hiles raised Oakley for close to three years and says she told social services that returning Oakley to her parents "wasn’t a safe decision," adding she hadn't heard from the little girl since 2019, when she returned to Bowers and Carlson, saying social services "made a mistake - a big mistake."

Grays Harbor County officials urge anyone with knowledge about Oakley's whereabouts or what could have happened to her to call either their office at (360) 533-8765, Detective Paul Logan at (360) 964-1729, or send them an email.
