So you've got some outstanding warrants, a suspended driver's license, and you need to get around town without being noticed? Steal somebody's license plates--that'll help.

The Kennewick Police CAT (Criminal Apprehension Team) is a special patrol unit that seeks out wanted suspects, acts on tips and leads, and is known for nailing wanted suspects especially after dark.

Thursday night, the CAT team was doing patrols in the 600 Block of South Hawthorne street when they pulled over a 22-year-old driver.

The woman, Erikka Dearing of Kennewick, was wanted on several outstanding warrants, but police didn't say what they were. During the traffic stop it was discovered the car she was driving had stolen license plates. Police contacted the owner, who didn't realize they were missing from one of his vehicles.

Now Dearing can add possession of stolen property and driving on a suspended license to her existing warrants, for a nice longer stay in jail.
