Pianist-singer Nikki Jean gifts her fans this Christmas season with a special holiday EP titled 'Christmas (Remastered).' What makes this collection so special is how the 30-year-old songstress reinterprets a few yuletide ditties and sprinkles a little hip-hop flavor on them.

On the three-song EP, Jean flips the holiday chestnut 'Do You Hear What I Hear' to 'Do You Hear' and sings the lyrics over OutKast’s 'Da Art of Storytellin (Part 1).'

On 'Feeling Joyful,' a reworking of a Christmas rarity 'The Hymn of Joy,' Jean sings over Jay Z’s 'Feelin' It' from 'Reasonable Doubt.'

Quick Trivia Fact: a young Lauryn Hill remixed the same song in the 1993 flick 'Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit' starring Whoopi Goldberg.

Finally, on 'Little Drummer Girl,' a gender twist of 'Little Drummer Boy,' Jean recites the lyrics over MF Doom’s 'One Beer.'

The only sad thing about this EP is that there’s only three songs. Hopefully, next year, Nikki Jean will make a full-length album like this so Santa can have something to bump to while he’s delivering presents on Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas!
