NFL Star Sends Vietnam Vet to Super Bowl

The words of Avengers Infinity War's Stonekeeper (Red Skull) seem to ring true for Jarvis Landry. Despite a disappointing second season in Cleveland, Landry is playing in his fifth-straight Pro Bowl this weekend. A lot of sports analysts had picked his Cleveland Browns as a darkhorse Super Bowl candidate. But even through adversity, Landry's greatest trait is shining brightly: his character. He is his team's nominee for Walter Payton Man of the Year. Some argue it's the most prestigious individual award in the league. He's also a finalist for the first-annual Anything But Ordinary award.

Landry is a little overlooked on his own team. Lining up opposite of him is his best friend, the polarizing Odell Beckham, Jr. His catches come from the arm of the brash Baker Mayfield. Most of the team's positive press comes from the demeanor and performance of Nick Chubb. But, Landry is one of the core leaders of his team. He's a great guy, and his charitable acts deserve some spotlight.

Jarvis has teamed up with USAA and Together We Served to send a Vietnam War veteran to next weekend's Super Bowl. He shared some photos of Corporal George Reilly on his Twitter account. Reilly served with the Marines from 1960-64. He is now a retired detective, having made a career with the New York Police Department. Reilly will be joined by his son, a Sergeant in the Marines.

Maybe one day Jarvis Landry will be in the Super Bowl, but for now, he'll have to relish in the joy of a man who has sacrificed so much.
