New speed limit signs that are being installed on interstate 84 actually change with the weather. The new signs are part of a test by the Oregon Department of Transportation on a 30 mile stretch of i84 between Ladd Canyon to Baker City according to news reports.

The signs change speed automatically depending on the changing road conditions because of weather. The signs use a variety of sensors to calculate the safe driving speed automatically without human help. The signs finish testing and are expected to be live on November 1st.
