If you have a pet you know how important they are. You take in this little animal and they become a family member. So when they pass away, it's heartbreaking. A Portland photographer, Kristin Zabawa, knows how special people's pets are to them, so she started Soul Sessions: taking photos of the pets and their owners in the final stages of the pet's life.

Zabawa gets calls when the pets are in their final days, and takes the time to get candid shots of the fur baby and their pet parents.  She wants to capture those special moments and create lasting positive memories, and the best part, it's FREE! Zabawa is trying to make Soul Sessions into a non-profit so she can continue her work even if owners can't afford the shots.

What do you think: is this totally morbid, or a sweet way to say goodbye?
