‘Mole’ Burglar Tunnels Way Through Wall into Kennewick Business

If some people would focus their efforts toward legitimate causes, they'd be very successful.

Just prior to 7 AM Thursday morning, Kennewick Police responded to a business in the 500 block of South Ely (which is actually also Highway 395, believed to be the Metro Mart) for a report that a burglar had 'dug' their way through the wall.

It seems the perp entered the business by digging through the drywall and insulation. Then they made off with a whole lot of lottery tickets. He also stole a number of other items.

  But here's where it takes a crazy turn

Apparently, the suspect attempted to cash in or utilize a number of the tickets. Working with the WA State Lottery, Kennewick Police were able to track down where the man had made use of them, get a description and locate him.

The suspect is now in custody facing a variety of charges. He's also likely going to be on the hook for all the damage he caused as well. The man's ID was not released.
