Man Arrested in Connection With Baby Sitting Sexual Assault

A 47-year-old Benton City man is being held in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a girl.

Richland Police arrested Steven Riley Muniz Monday. Authorities say the incident occurred Saturday night, as Muniz was babysitting a girl.

When her parents got home, she told them he had raped her, and she repeated the same account during a police interview. According to authorities, Muniz admitted to the incident when arrested Monday by police.

The girl's age was not given, Muniz is facing First Degree Child Rape charges. His bail is at $100K and he remains in the Benton County jail.
