In the wake of the second Snowmageddon in the last three years, the Kennewick School District announced Friday what changes will be made to ensure students meet the state requirements for hours and days spent in the classroom.

Here's the official breakdown from the district:

  • The last day of school has moved to Friday, June 14. This will be a full school day.
  • Friday, May 24 will become a school day. This was previously indicated as a snow make-up day if needed on the school calendar.
  • There will be no Wednesday Early Releases for K-12 or early releases for Report Card Prep for the remainder of the school year beginning March 25, 2019. Early release for parent and student conferences will still occur.
  • Graduation dates will remain the same and NO SENIOR SATURDAYS will be needed.
