Kennewick Firefighters and Police were called out to the blaze just after midnight Wednesday at West Canal Drive and North Buchanan Street.

Several residents suffered smoke inhalation and one person was taken to the hospital. It's believed that a dog and two cats died in the fire.

Due to extreme damage to the roof, the building is considered to be a complete loss. A vehicle was also destroyed in the fire.

Firefighters will remain on the scene Wednesday to monitor for hotspots.

According to reports, the fire started on the bottom floor. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
