Since 1886 we've been saying that "April Showers Bring May flowers
...and it looks like this May they brought a "Flower Moon" along with them.
Fox news reports it's a supermoon too, the last one of 2020.  The big ball of lunar luminescence will be visible tomorrow morning (Thursday, May 7th) but the Old Farmer’s Almanac notes the moon will not actually be visible when it reaches peak illumination at 6:45 a.m. Eastern time as it will still be below the horizon.
So their website advises you to plan to venture outdoors tonight or on Thursday night to get the best view of the bright full Flower moon.
The EarthSky website notes, “This May 2020 full moon presents the third and final full moon supermoon of 2020, showcasing the 3rd-closest (and therefore the 3rd-largest) full moon of the year.”
A supermoon happens when the moon’s elliptical orbit brings it to the closest point to the Earth while the moon is full.
