If you grow up in a town that "smells", you never notice. Your nostrils get used to it but it's funny when you leave that town and later come back and go "what smells so bad?"

I'm from one of those towns and every time I go home now it smells awful. I grew up in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley.

I'm from Clarkston Washington and I'm pretty proud of the fact that I'm not from Idaho even though a blue bridge separates the two states.

As a kid, I didn't even realize my hometown reeked! It was years later as I moved around in my radio career and lived in other towns. People would as me where I was from and to save time I'd just say Lewiston Idaho and they'd give me that weird look and then respond with a look of "that place stinks".

I think whatever stench came from Lewiston burnt out my nostrils years ago but when I visit these days, yes it still reeks.

When I moved to the Tri-Cities in 2007, I did notice one of the Tri-Cities had a little smell to it and it got me thinking that I wasn't alone growing up in a "smelly" town. I thought it would be fun to talk about other "smelly" towns in Washington and here's the list I came up with:

Here Are The Five "Smelliest" Towns Near The Tri-Cities

Here are five of the "smelliest" towns and cities near the Tri-Cities - You know these places by their smell no doubt!

I do that those of us from "smelly" towns are pretty proud of our heritage but you do have to admit those places "stink" from time to time!
