Gun Found at Prosser Middle School

Housel Middle School in Prosser was on lock down after a student reported a gun was on campus.

School officials immediately followed district policy and put the school on lock down and called Prosser police. After a quick investigation the gun was located in a locker. 

A 13-year-old boy brought the loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun to school for protection against high school kids, he said. He did not intend to do any harm to students or faculty.

The school stayed on lock down while police gathered information.

The incident is now over but Prosser School District is encouraging others to follow the student's example and report dangerous situations.
