Growing up around guns was the way it was on the ranch. I've talked several times about growing up on the Grande Ronde River at the bottom of the Rattlesnake Grade in Southwest Washington right on the Washington/Oregon border.

Growing up around guns, you know that gun safety has to be your #1 priority. I saw this event on my Facebook feed, so I had to tell you about it. It's a good reminder of the importance of gun safety.

It's also a chance to get free lock boxes and trigger locks this coming Saturday, August 22nd at two locations.

The Sportsman's Warehouse and Tri-State Outfitters in Moses Lake are hosting this free event thanks to Samaritan Healthcare.

Free Lock Boxes and Free Trigger Locks will be given away starting at 10 AM on Saturday in Moses Lake. The first location is the Sportsman's Warehouse at 1020 N. Stratford Road and at Tri-State Outfitters at 1224 S. Pioneer Way.

According to the Facebook event page, you'll learn about safe firearm storage and will receive hands-on on how to use a lockbox and a trigger lock.
