Former Pasco Cop Accused of Raping Niece Starts Retrial
Richard Aguirre's retrial is scheduled to start Wednesday. The former "Pasco Officer of the Year" is charged with third-degree rape and fourth-degree assault of a female relative. He denies the charges.
He also has trials pending in Spokane, where he's accused of murdering a prostitute decades ago in a cold-case file. He claims to have been out of the country at that time.
His relative says she spent the evening drinking and dining with Aguirre and decided to stay the night instead of driving home inebriated. She says she awoke to him assaulting her.
