Carey Price of British Columbia was a goaltender for the Ams about a decade ago. He was the Western Hockey League's Goaltender of the year in 2007. This week he was named Canada's top athlete.

Price had a great season setting several career records and tying with one other goaltender for most successful of the season. He plays for the Montreal Canadiens and earned the NHL's MOST VALUABLE PLAYER award as well as named league's top goaltender.

He's only the 13th hockey player to win the nation's top honor that has been given away for over 80 years. He's the first Canadien's player to win it since 1977.
