DUI Driver Ruins TV for Hundreds in Kennewick Sunday

A 26-year-old man is in the Benton County jail after not only destroying his own car, but taking out a cable/wiring box in a Sunday afternoon crash.

Kennewick Police report Carlos Omar Aranda-Ortiz smashed his car into a railing and a cable box near 10th and Gum Streets, sending parts all over the road.

Not only was he arrested on suspicion of DUI, but "narcotics" were also found on him by police. He also, said police, "decided he didn't want to go to jail" and is facing resisting arrests charges.

Probably better for him jail  than to 'expose' him to the area residents whose TV reception and packages were snowed out until crews could repair the damage.
