Thanks to the nose of Benton County Sheriff's K-9 Sable, Deputies were able to recover a bag containing what's believed to be stolen property taken from West Richland car prowls.

Wednesday afternoon Deputies responded to a report of a single car crash on Rayhill Road, near the Old Inland Empire Highway, about 3 miles west of Benton City.

By the time officers arrived the suspect had grabbed a bag and ditched the car, according to a witness. Deputies later caught up with the suspect and he was arrested for DUI. However, he didn't have the bag with him.

Then Thursday morning, K-9 Sable was able to track and locate the bag. Inside were a number of items West Richland Police say were taken in various car prowls as well as a pellet gun.

Now the suspect is not only facing DUI, but car prowl charges, and he was also wanted on an outstanding 2nd Degree Assault warrant. The suspect's name was not released.
