A Toppenish man waiting to cross the street with a relative was shot in the face by someone shooting out the window of a Silver car last Saturday night. Police got a report of a man shot in the face just after 7pm near Fort Road and Highway 97 according to news reports. The victim is a 24 year old man from Toppenish. Witnesses say that a man leaned out of the 90’s or early 2000’s Honda Accord or Accura silver sedan, screamed something at the victim, and then started shooting. One of the bullets hit the victim in the face.

The victim says they do not know the shooter, and does not have any gang ties as far as authorities know. The victim was originally taken to the Toppenish Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for surgery. There are no suspects at this time but if you have any information about this case, please contact the Yakima Sheriff’s Office, Detective Division.
