It's the Wine Country Amphitheater's inaugural season, at Veteran's Memorial Golf Course, and they are bringing some big outdoor shows to Walla Walla this summer. So book a room, or a designated driver, and plan on doing some day-drinking (as in wine-tasting) and then rock out under the starlit, clear night skies.

Here's the 2022 line-up...

On June 8th, ZZ Top is binging their Raw Whiskey Tour to Walla Walla wine country. Expect to hear the essentials, such as Sharp Dressed Man, and Legs, along with fan-favorites like My Head's in Mississippi, and maybe even a surprise cover-song or two.

Aaron Lewis and The State-liners

Like Donny & Marie, Aaron Lewis and the State-liners are a little bit country, and a little bit rock'n'roll. Once voted one of the 100 best vocalists in heavy metal, during his run with the band Staind, Lewis has spent the last decade forging a career in Nashville.

On June 10th, fans will be treated to Lewis's country songbook, which includes hits like Northern Redneck, rock chart-toppers like It's Been Awhile, and a few surprise cover-songs.

Chris Isaak has a reputation for putting on a great live show. Always a popular draw, he's joined by 4-time Grammy winner Lyle Lovett. That's a pretty solid double-bill.

Isaak has a loose, cool California vibe and delivers the hits you came for, like Wicked Game, and Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing, while also sneaking in deeper album cuts and maybe an unexpected cover-song.

You probably think of Lyle Lovett as a country artist, but his music includes swing, blues, and other genres as well. You can count on hearing She's No Lady, and Church, some hard-core fan-favorites, plus some great cover tunes.

Two living legends, blues-guitarist Bonnie Raitt, and soul-singer Mavis Staples, bring their contagious, positive energy to Walla Walla with a tour name Carrie Bradshaw would be proud of, "Just Like That..."

I love me some slide-guitar from Bonnie Raitt, which you'll hear plenty of, both on new songs like Blame It On Me, and on modern classics like Something to Talk About. Raitt has also been known to step out of the box with some fun cover songs, like I Need You Tonight from INXS.

Mavis Staples has been singing for the world since 1956. She's released countless albums, had a string of familiar hits, both solo and with the Staples Singers, and can count the band U2 among her fans, but she only needed one song to be immortalized forever: I'll Take You There. Mmm! Ahh! That voice. So good.

Grammy Award-winning Maren Morris is making the rounds on her Humble Quest tour. Morris is from Texas, guests the Lone Bellow are from New York, but they'll meet you in the middle, on the green, at the Wine Country Amphitheater at Veteran's Memorial Golf Course.

Expect to hear Morris sing favorites like 80s Mercedes, and monster crossover hits The Middle (expect this to be a crowd sing-along), and The Bones.

The Lone Bellow have had success on Adult Alternative Airplay charts, with hits like Count On Me, Bleeding Out, and last year's Dried Up River.

Jackson Browne

Billed as "An Evening with Jackson Browne," which sometimes means acoustic only, or a chatty story-teller's set, I'm told Browne will have his full band in tow for his Walla Walla concert.

A deep-thinker, an activist, and a brilliant lyricist, listen for radio staples like Running On Empty, and Doctor My Eyes, a few newer cuts, and longtime fan-favorite The Pretender.

An impressive-looking first season of outdoor concerts in Walla Walla, and the area is richer for it.

44 of the Best Musicians to Have Hailed From Washington State

We all know about the influential grunge scene of Seattle that brought the end of hair metal at the dawn of the 1990s. But did you know even more artists have called Washington home? A lot of these artists come from Seattle but some come from Spokane and even the Tri-Cities.
