I know shooting off fireworks is the way we celebrate independence day in America, but we can't just be all willy-nilly. There are rules (in fact laws) in place to protect us. They regulate the type of fireworks that are acceptable to the hours to shoot them off. These instructions apply within the city limits of Pasco:

From Pasco PD and The City of Pasco:

NOT ALL FIREWORKS ARE LEGAL in Pasco this year. And the times are limited. With the new fireworks regulations in Pasco, you may be wondering what is now legal and what is not. Here are some flyers (in English and Spanish) with the highlights of the new ordinance:

NO: Nothing that "goes up or blows up"! Aerial rockets are still prohibited. Violations can result in a $250 fine and confiscation of the illegal fireworks.

YES: Allowed ground fireworks:
Cone/cylindrical fountains
Smoke devices
Sparklers
Ground spinners
Wheels

SAFETY FIRST: Please avoid using your legal ground fireworks around dry grass or vacant lots. Please keep some kind of basic fire fighting equipment on hand, like a garden hose, bucket of water or sand, or shovel.

TIMES ARE LIMITED: Use of the legal fireworks are allowed:
June 28: 12:00 noon - 11:00 PM.
June 29 to July 3: 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM.
July 4: 9:00 AM. - 12:00 midnight.
July 5: 9:00 AM. - 11:00 PM.
