According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the flames were spotted by a motorist driving on a nearby highway. They saw the fire and called 9-1-1.

Around 4 AM fire crews responded to a two-story house fire on Orcutt Road in Benton City, upon arrival they found the home completely engulfed in flames.

How Far Along Was Fire When Crews Arrived?

The roof had already burned away, and the interior was mostly consumed already. Deputies say the family was not home at the time, they are now homeless. The farmhouse was a total loss.

Fortunately no one was injured in the blaze, but two dogs did suffer some burns but got out OK.

According to Deputies the cause of the fire is still unknown, they did not say if it was suspicious. The investigation continues.
