Most prowlers test door handles to see if they're unlocked. This happened to me once a few years ago. I always lock my truck. But right as the Sun was going down, I ran out to get something, I open the door grabbed it, slammed the door, and went back inside. Yep the one night I forgot to lock my door, my truck was prowled. I had a work bag in there with some headphones and other things. The police found that about a block away, strewn all over the road. They found my address on some old mail hiding in the bag and were kind enough to return it and asked if anything else was missing. I can't believe they didn't steal the headphones! Maybe in a world where earbuds are more popular, the headphones I use for the radio just wouldn't cut it lol. But every time there's a car prowl story on one of the police Facebook pages, it's always a good reminder to make sure your vehicles are locked. Generally, they will test the handle and just walk away when they are.
