My wife is an Oregonian and Oregon is the number one producer of Christmas trees in the nation. Going out and searching for and cutting the perfect Christmas Tree was a holiday tradition for her so living here in the desert makes it hard to find that perfect tree. So much so she has resorted to creating a Christmas ladder!

...So where do you go to buy that perfect tree? Do you go to the tree lot, make a trek to the woods and cut one down or give up and buy a fake tree - We've compiled some places around the Tri-Cities for you to find the perfect Christmas tree!

You can cut your own tree. You have 2 options to go cut your own tree, but both will require a road trip.

Your first option is to pack a lunch and your hiking boots and head out to the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest or the Umatilla National Forest to search for and cut your perfect tree. Remember to obtain your $5 Christmas Tree Permit and don’t forget a saw.

You’ll also need a National Forest Day Pass at many trailhead locations for parking. Sno-Park permits can be purchased online for Washington at bit.ly/Washingtonsnow or at participating vendor locations. Seasonal permits are $40 in Washington. Daily permits cost $4 a day.

The second option is to find a U-Cut Tree farm. These tree farms often have activities for the kids, hot cocoa and the supplies you need to cut down the tree. Here is a website to help you find a U-Cut Christmas Tree Farm.

How about finding that perfect Pre-Cut Tree?

Beaver Bark is a one stop shop for your holiday needs. You can see Santa and his reindeer, get all your gift shopping done, pick out some holiday decorations and select your perfect tree.

You can go see Santa Claus and take photos with your phones. You can also make an ornament with your kids. They have poinsettias, unique gifts, soup, and hot drinks. After all that fun, food and gift shopping remember to pick your tree.

Bills Berry Farm has great festivals and events throughout the year and it is always fun to go there and have some hot apple cider, fresh donuts and pick out your perfect tree. Unfortunately, this year they are skipping tree season. But, we can’t wait for the Strawberry Jamboree this coming May and June!

Fresh trees add a wonderful fragrance and warmth to your home during the Christmas season. No matter where you get your tree remember to make it a fun memory with your friends or family
