Born in Seattle, raised in Montana, I fell in love with radio when I was in high school. Not just radio, but the idea of “being on the radio!” When Montana Tech students went home for the summer I got to run the local 10-watt operation on campus! Auditions were held and at age 16 I got my own radio show. It was only three hours a week and for no pay, but it was just the experience I needed to get on a commercial broadcast station and actually get paid for it! Over the years, radio has shown me the great United States of America, landing jobs from Florida to Alaska, including Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Detroit. Having been with KORD for going on 9 years now, I feel at home here. I've MC'd the Turkey Trot in Columbia Park for more Thanksgiving mornings than I can remember and every year I am a part of local pet adoption events. You might think that when the broadcast day is over I've simply had enough, but most evenings I kick on the ol' ham radio in my garage and talk to folks near and far. My wife is my high school girlfriend. She graduated the year before I did and we ended up going separate ways. She later married someone else, as did I. We both raised our families and lost contact with each other. 20 years later I got divorced, so did she and you guessed it...we found each other again. Life's kind of funny that way sometimes, and we've never been happier.
