Forget Oktoberfest, you've got to go to Sausagefest! It's a magical time where we eat sausage and have the best weekend ever! The fest runs from Fri-Sat, September 16-17 at Christ the King School in Richland. The days will be filled with food, beverages, entertainment, and activities for all ages! For a first-timer it can be a bit overwhelming, so here are some tips to make the most of your Sausagefest experience!

1. Get a Map! There are tons of activities, booths, and stages, and if you don't know where you want to go, you'll miss some things you really want to see/do.

2. Choose Your Entertainment Wisely. There are so many bands and different performances going on, you'll need to decide who you most want to see and plan your day accordingly. My tip for best entertainment: Stomping Ground, ACT Children's Theater, Swallotail Irish Band, Rude Mechanicals, Voo Doo Alley, and the Tri-City Academy of Ballet.

3. Plan Your Eating Wisely. A good friend of mine said "you can't eat everything." The pierogis go fast, there's different kinds of sausages, and if you want dessert, chose ice cream or pie wisely (or both). The food you definitely want to try, probably everyone will want that too, so get there early and eat away!

4. Plan for a Trip With and Without the Kids. If you have kids, this is a great event, but of course, kids have ideas on what they want to do, and they may differ from an adults only trip. Plan your activities for a good balance between what you want and what they want, and all will be happy. Or plan to come both days: once with the kids, and once without! :)
