They had me at the word FREE. I found this list at Thrillist.com, so shout out to them. I scoured through the lengthy list to see which locations applied to Yakima and surrounding areas, so here you go and enjoy!

These eight local fast-food chains are offering free food during the month of September 2021, for no other reason than that they can! Which one of these is your favorite offer? I'm really digging the ones that I don't have to download an app for. I barely have enough space on my phone for my pics and videos, let alone somebody's new app that will likely be tracking my every move to report back to their data analysts! Ain't nobody got time for that!

Arby's
4002 Summitview Ave, Yakima

Open 10 a.m. every day of the week. This deal is technically not free, but a dollar is almost next to free! Get a FREE kids meal for a buck when you purchase a regular adult meal. Ends Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Auntie Anne's

2529 Main St, inside the Valley Mall in Union Gap

Open 10 a.m. every day of the week. You'll have to sign up for their "Pretzel Perks" but at least you don't have to download their friggin' phone app. Anytime you buy a drink from Auntie Anne's you allegedly can receive a free pretzel. This deal sounds too good to be true, but whatever. This deal ends on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Baskin-Robbins

3 Locations:1505 S 1st St, Yakima

1208 N 40th Ave Ste A, next to Fred Meyer in Yakima

3802 W Nob Hill Blvd, Yakima (Opens at 10 a.m. every day of the week. Also a drive-thru!)

Opens at 11 a.m. every day of the week. This is another "download our app" deal, but if you go ahead and do it, you'll get a FREE scoop of your fave flavor! That might be worth the download, if you ask me!

Buffalo Wild Wings

2529 Main St, Union Gap

Opens at 11 a.m. every day of the week. If you love the Buffalo Wild Wings boneless wings, you are in luck (my favorites are the parmesan garlic and the mango habanero)! They call them "B-Dubs" and if you buy any size order of them on Thursdays, you'll get comped an order for FREE! It's take-out only, though and subject to restaurant approval.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit

2706 W Nob Hill Blvd, Yakima

Opens at 11 a.m. every day of the week. Bring your kids along so they can eat for FREE on Sundays. What's the catch? You have to purchase a regular-sized entree that is at least ten dollars. If you order it for delivery or takeout, try the code word "KEFOLO". I'm not even sure what the heck KEFOLO means but perhaps it's like yelling, "YOLO!"

Jimmy John's

2 Locations:

2550 W Nob Hill Blvd #106, Yakima

122 E Yakima Ave, Yakima

Opens at 11 a.m. every day of the week. I used to go to Jimmy Johns at least once a week because my daughter, Willow, loves to get their sandwiches with just turkey and mayo, that's it. She's since outgrown begging for Jimmy Johns because now she asks for Mod Pizza every Friday, but maybe, just maybe if I decide to download the app, she can get their app deal for a free short sub.

Krispy Kreme

2329 S 1st St, Union Gap

Opens 6 a.m. every day of the week. I just went to Krispy Kreme the other day to cash in on my FREE donut for having both of my COVID-19 vaccines. What a sweet deal, pun intended. Show them your card at the drive-thru (or go inside, your choice). This deal lasts every single day for the rest of 2021, so you get to be rewarded beyond the month of September!

Quiznos

5603 Summitview Ave Unit 102, Yakima

Opens 10 a.m. every day of the week. I can't even recall the last time I went to Quiznos! To be honest, I was just sitting here thinking, are they even still open in Yakima? The answer is YES, and they have a deal where if you download their app you get a free sub (4" only).
