An 11-Year Old Oregon boy is missing as of last night and the abductor is believed to be his mother.

A press release from the Union County Sheriff's Department has authorities scrambling to find Jackson Cox from La Grande, Oregon.

The release reads:

"Jackson Cox is a light-skinned African-American, 5’5” tall, weighing 150 pounds and has medium-functioning autism. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts, and sandals.

The Search & Rescue team was activated last night, and continues an all-out search this morning, concentrating on back yards, outbuildings, and river banks. We have been advised that due to the autism Jackson may hide from searchers. He may not respond well to the approach of strangers, so if seen notify local law enforcement. Neighbors in the area are requested to search their yards carefully for Jackson.

There is evidence to suggest Jackson was taken by his mother, Wendy Cox, who does not have lawful custody. A felony warrant for unrelated charges is on file for her. There is reason to believe she may be fleeing to California with the boy, possibly in a green 1997 Ford pick-up truck bearing Oregon license SL 88471.

Her driver’s license has been revoked, and according to Capt. Craig Ward she has a history of behavior which could put the boy at risk. She is described as a Caucasian female, 41 years of age"

If you see this little boy, his abductor or a green 1997 Ford Pickup that matches the description, please contact the Union County Sheriff's Office immediately.
