As we wrap up 2016, let's take a look at some of the more eye-opening crime stories in Tri-Cities.
Daniel Rowe of Richland last August drove up to Olympia to beat up Black Lives Matter protesters disrespecting police officers. Not getting his opportunity, he chose to stab a kissing bi-racial couple instead:
Richard Heathman of Hermiston stabbed a woman in the neck and then tried to choke the responding officer.
Anthony Garver escaped from Western State Hospital last spring. He was incarcerated for tying a 20-year-old woman to her bed with electrical cords, stabbing her 24 times in the chest and slashing her throat.
Rayfield Cole of Kennewick strangled and stabbed his girlfriend in front of her children last spring after she announced she was leaving him
Rory Star arrested for threatening people with a knife last October in a Richland Starbucks shortly after being released from prison for stabbing a friend.
Theresa Wiltse is accused of kidnapping and murdering a 69-year-old Kennewick woman in November
Last March a Richland couple was arrested for trying to hire someone to kill her ex husband in Vancouver, WA.
Last March Casey Henderson beat, choked and killed Katy Straalsund of Richland while they were at school together in Seattle.
Kevin Phillips stabbed his own father in October.
Nick Bryant is accused a stabbing his own girlfriend and Tri-Cities man Christopher Gilchrist Halloween night over meth. Gilchrist stumbled to a nearby home and got help from a woman handing out Halloween candy before dying.
